- Abstract
- The purpose of the ministry research project was to develop a seminar that would help pastors to become more effective in ministry to the terminally ill and to recruit them to become volunteer chaplains for Hospice of Southern Illinois. The seminar, developed from the research done for chapters 2 and 3, presented a model of grief that integrated a relational theology with a Freudian psychodynamic psychology. While the seminar addressed the patient's concerns, the emphasis of the seminar was to invite the minister to address his or her own internal dynamics and possible unresolved grief issues.
