Abstract
  • This dissertation-project includes a study of worship in the scriptures; a survey of ten evangelical congregations, their forms and philosophy of worship; and a comparison of the two. The Bible does not mandate any one form of worship. Likewise, the churches studied worshipped in different ways, reflecting the culture and resources that we have today. The scriptures do suggest a balance of revelation and response in worship. This response must be wholehearted and respectful of God's revelation. Furthermore, our response in worship must affect everything we do in life.
