Abstract
  • This project offers a historical analysis of Promise Keepers, a Christian ministry to men, and its effect on local churches from 1990 to 1996. Promise Keepers aids local churches in many ways, by building up Christian men in regional conferences conducted in football stadiums, by providing support for pastors and ministry leaders through its Ambassador and Key Man networks, and by encouraging pastors and churches to serve their communities. A discipleship survey based on the 'seven promises' and distributed to 500 men shows that Promise Keepers does make a difference in the lives of some Christian men, equipping and motivating them to pursue vital relationships with one another, to love their wives, and to support the mission of local churches in tangible ways.
