Abstract
  • This thesis demonstrates the validity and importance of expanding a congregation's understanding of God's grace to include the Good News of Sanctification, through the ministry of preaching in a Lutheran context. Biblical preaching texts have been approached from a binary Law/Gospel point of view by Lutheran preachers. This paper offers an alternative approach that responds to the needs of hearers today. In Scripture and Lutheran theology the Good News is more than justification. It should be proclaimed as both justification and sanctification.
