Abstract
  • The effective communication of the message between the pulpit and the Korean-Americans is directly concerned with knowing the context. This process can be called the contextualization of preaching. This contextualization begins with two areas. The first area is about the external conditions which are derived from the immigrant context. Based on an analysis of the Korean-American context, the Korean-American preacher should attempt the proper coordination between the context and text, and suggest the hermeneutical contact points in which the context (congregation) meets the Word of God. The cultural, ethnic, religious, and immigrational perspectives could be the contact points for the preaching.
