Abstract
  • The use of the short play is an effective tool for developing evangelism awareness in a congregation. A history of drama and its use in the ancient times is presented with its present value as a communicative tool. The author connects drama with the inherent qualities of the Gospel as a dramatic writing for evangelism. The use of the word evangelism is examined along with its relationship to Christian education, Christian identity, American culture, and justice issues. The theological writings of Jurgen Moltmann offer the theological premise for the relating of drama and evangelism. the author then composes four short plays on evangelism for use in a church. Evaluations and conclusions are reached showing the positive effects of the project within the congregation.
