Abstract
  • In our culture death and grief are often denied, bringing prolonged or emotionally damaging grief. The rationale given from Scripture is that believers who receive comfort from God should pass that comfort on to others. Library research, personal interviews and life experiences give practical ways in which, by counseling and careful follow-up, comfort may be brought to the dying and to those in mourning. Research revealed that funeral plans are best made in advance, eliminating unnecessary, hidden expenses and avoidance of emotional trauma. Detailed plans are presented for the Christian funeral and for church involvement with grieving families.
