Abstract

The model of ministry implemented at Mt. Olive C.M.E. Church, Orlando, FL, was a program designed to respond to the problem of the diminishing number of youth and young adults in the CME church. A group of twelve diverse participants received mentoring, tutoring, and empowering throughout the project. Seven mentors, training classes, a twelve-weeks Rites of Passage program, and a graduation celebration was done. Pre- and post-test questionnaires were used. Data analyses show this experimental group improved significantly self-esteem, accountability, and dedication to Christ and the church.
