Abstract
  • This Doctor of Ministry project examines what the Bible teaches about the stewardship of our finances and then applies that knowledge in a practical way within a specific ministry setting. The Bible addresses more than just the stewardship of the money and material possessions we have. It also speaks to issues related to the stewardship of our time and talents. However, this project focuses exclusively on the stewardship of our finances. In summary, chapter 1 of the project provides introductory and background material on the context in which the project was implemented. It also provides a rationale for the project. Chapter 2 examines the biblical, theological and historical principles and practices of financial stewardship. Chapter 3 discusses the sociological, psychological and motivational aspects of philanthropy, as well as offers a few ideas about the ways we are motivated to give in the Scriptures. Chapter 4 discusses the implementation of the project, while chapter 5 examines the results and the data.
