Abstract
  • This project report describes a ministry in a family-centered care of the dying, located in the Riverside Hospital Hospice of Newport News, Virginia. It is a ministry with terminal patients that seeks to provide spiritual support for the whole person in order that he/she might live a comfortable, meaningful, and related experience for the remainder of life. Included in this report is a comparison of patients receiving hopsice care as against those receiving traditional care. The ultimate goal was the exploration of the validity of the religious and spiritual implications that appear to underlie the whole hospice movement.
