Abstract
  • This project addresses the problem: 'How can the study of foundational biblical and theological concepts combined with mission immersion experiences transform members of a United Methodist congregation into disciples of Jesus Christ who are eager to serve the needs of the world, especially the needs of the poor?' Using the pro-active research model the goal was to transform the participant's attitudes and actions with the poor. The conclusion is that it is easier to change thought than actions. This project is an important beginning but for ongoing transformation this course must be followed up with ongoing accountability through small groups.
