Abstract
  • After offering biblical substantiation as to why culturally-specific worship services are not the Christian ideal, and presenting postulations of why they are still so, the author led in the implementation of changes to the worship services at the church he pastors. The changes focused on not offending non-African-American worshipers. Though the changes did not alter the cultural make-up of the congregation, the work was efficacious in changing the attitudes of many of the members, as they developed a more mature understanding of the New Testament's call to genuine Christian Community.
