Abstract
  • This is a course to help incorporate adult church members into the life and mission of the congregation. It is developed around Jesus' eschatological announcement of the kingdom of God which calls the Church into being, determines its mission, and summons forth its discipleship. In turn, discipleship becomes the paradigm for life in the congregation. There are four major themes: discipleship as encounter with the Good News; discipleship as celebration; discipleship as life in community; and discipleship as the radical change making Christ the center of one's life. Included also is a theological background and suggestions for using the course.
