Abstract
  • The impetus to a comprehensive ministry of evangelism for the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas is located in the work of the triune God. Its biblical and historical antecedents are found respectively in the New Testament ecclesia and in John Wesley's ministry of evangelism in eighteenth century England. This comprehensive ministry includes three elements: a sound theological foundation, a strong faith-serving ministry, and a well organized faith-sharing ministry, which, when in place, can improve the evangelism ministries of Caribbean congregations. This hypothesis is successfully tested in a workshop designed to equip local pastors and laity for evangelism ministries.
