Abstracto

This project summarizes the particular ministry needs of Annville Baptist Church to the underprivileged people of Appalachia. Chapter 1 lays out the rationale and context. Chapter 2 investigates the biblical call to notice and minister to the poor. Examples are drawn from Ruth and Acts 6:1. Chapter 3 outlines the cultural issues surrounding a ministry to Appalachia, with an historical overview and a special ministry needs assessment. Chapter 4 details the test instruments and includes a sermon series designed to motivate the church toward local ministry. Chapter 5 outlines the conclusions of the project, with some thoughts about future work.
