Abstract
  • This project proposes and implements a 12-session training program to empower lay leaders of Center Chapel Baptist Church (Memphis, Tenn) to participate in social crisis ministry. The training curriculum includes the history of black people and the black church, Scripture, theology, fellowship, and change, along with a field trip to other churches to observe ministries already implemented. Lay leaders of the congregation grow in unity, self-image, and vision for ministry as a result of the training.
