  • Stress is becoming an ever-increasing problem in our fast moving culture. Pastors face this societal stress, plus additional anxieties stemming from their ministry. The resultant effect is harmful, physically and emotionally, to the minister. The writer theorized that pastors could learn coping skills to limit the impact of the stress they faced. Coping skills dealing with three major areas of ministry stress were presented in a seminar forum to a select group of pastors. A pre-post stress test was given the participants. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in coping with stress for the majority of the group.
