- Abstract
- The graying of America is unique to the twentieth century. An aging society challenges the church to be aware of the problems that face the elderly and to help alleviate those problems. Our biblical faith and Christian heritage emphasize the importance of the laity in ministry. An extensive research of printed data and current programs leads to a pilot project of visitation by the author and a fifteen-member task group. The main goal is to provide an avenue of care to the elderly of Central Church. The project enables the laity to see the need for a shared ministry to the church's aged. It culminates in interest in a permanent program of visitation to the elderly.
