Abstract
  • This project uses an action reflection model to examine biblical, theological, cultural and historical issues to advocate that Lutheran congregations consider utilizing cell groups as a faithful component of ministry in order to promote vibrant communities centered in Jesus Christ. The cell group system has demonstrated the potential for dramatic congregational growth in differing cultures around the world. The theological basis for their use is to promote basic Christian community where people can intimately participate. The cells build up disciples to reach out to others. Cell groups are also useful in promoting active discipleship through their holistic structure.
