- Abstract
- Considering the challenges presented by the rise of the Haitian population in Philadelphia, and conscious of his personal inability to meet the needs of the church and the community, the writer of this project sought to implement a leadership-training program at the Haitian Evangelical Baptist Church. Two areas of research have inspired the author: the biblical principles of Nehemiah, Jesus, and Paul, and the insights of James Kouzes and Barry Posner, from the secular arena. Sixteen persons selected from the congregation participated in a nine-week leadership-training class. Today they are making a significant contribution in the community.
