Abstract

The project will develop a church based training program for lay church planting ministry in India. With the rapid growth of Christianity in India there are no other alternatives but to equip the lay people for the work. Second, this project will suggest methods for church-based training programs for lay church planters. This study consists of understanding the purpose of a local church and also demonstrates a biblical foundation for church-based training for lay church planters. This study will also define the role of the pioneer workers as trainer. The authors also suggest methods on how to organize training program, including courses and subjects, which need to be taught. The destiny of India lies in the hands of lay people. Therefore, trained lay church planters are a strategy than can penetrate the nation of India.
