Abstract
  • This project was implemented at the Spaulding Avenue Church of God in Chicago. The purpose was to design a jail ministry Conscientization Project to influence the attitudes of church members toward the incarcerated and their families. The research consisted of the application of a survey that permitted the determination of the participants' attitudes. The project was designed to demonstrate that there is an improvement in the participants' attitudes toward the incarcerated and their families after participating in the project. The implementation of the project demonstrated that the capacitation of the leaders was effective and that the proposed objectives were accomplished. As a final result, support groups were established to supervise the jail ministries.
