- Abstract
- This project explores the development of Interfaith AIDS Ministry Inc (IAM) of West Newton, Massachusetts, during 1986-1989 as a replicable model for responding to AIDS concerns of communities and congregations. A qualitative research method gathered data from in-depth interviews with a representative sampling of IAM's Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers. Results of these interviews combined with historic IAM documents, the researcher's journal, and theoretical literature call the reader to understand AIDS primarily as a faith crisis in need of spiritual remedies.
