Abstract
  • The challenge for ministry at Due West United Methodist Church is to shift this rapidly growing congregation's focus from being a church family and intimate fellowship to Christian hospitality and servant discipleship. The theological principle of this thesis centers on developing and nurturing a vision of koinonia and diakonia in this church. This new vision will inspire and call the church members forward to embrace one another in a supportive community and to serve the world. Anticipated interventions include forms of proclamation, learning opportunities, and equipping the church members of discipleship. The focus on making disciples could become the unifying and empowering force in this growing congregation.
