  • The thesis is that strengthening the church must be by strengthening lay leadership. Various approaches were tried by the author. Use of the Living Life Bible Study class proved most effective. Participants became active models for the whole congregation. The most noticeable improvement was in trainees acting as lay pastors, taking on responsibilities formerly completed by the author. The new insight is: the church is strengthened most by strengthening leaders, and by doing this through a continuously developing program for lay leaders, the lasting result is a stronger church.
