  • This project proposes that a congregation of any size must be intentional in designing and implementing communication systems that welcome and incorporate newcomers into congregational life. The church is called to communicate God's love and acceptance through ministries of hospitality and welcoming, providing a church-home environment, information-sharing processes, and interpersonal relationship opportunities that will be perceived by strangers as inclusive, inviting, and sincere. Size is not the issue in this mission, although many congregations use size as an excuse. God's love is inclusive and unconditional; all Christians receive it and are called to offer it.
