Abstrakt

The thesis of this project is that a deacon's skills can be improved through quality adult education. The project uses information obtained from an extensive review of the literature on adult education and the Baptist deacon. It examines such skills as leadership, group management, conflict management, and church family ministry needs. The material first is presented pedagogically. An andragogical section follows which presents practical uses of the material. Some positive results are obtained. However, retention of the material could be enhanced if more time were devoted to the androgogical development.
