Abstract
  • The primary goal of this project was to train the deacons of First Baptist Church Colbert Heights to assist in the assimilation of adult new members. The process used to reach this goal was to, first, educate the deacons on the need of the church to take intentional steps in the assimilating adult new members. Second, the deacons were trained and given strategic roles in the assimilation process. Finally, the assimilation strategy was implemented and individual deacons were given follow-up assignments with new members that were monitored for a 12-week period.
