- Abstract
- This Doctor of Ministry Project provided a theological basis for the developing spirituality of college students in general and for the college students at Sam Houston State University specifically. This project led students to develop an understanding of a theology of the cross along with its practical implications for their personal lives and for their own ministry opportunities. Since theology is itself a dialogical discipline, a small group of students was enlisted to study together a theology of the cross as well as how they could apply a cruciform theology throughout the Baptist Student Ministry. This project lasted for one semester and attempted to include all of the students that were involved in the Baptist Student Ministry Program. The majority of the work, however, was completed by a smaller, select group of students. A larger group of students were asked to evaluate the testimonies, devotional materials, and sermons prepared by the select group. The challenge for the smaller, select group involved leaching the larger group of students the practical implications of a theology of the cross and to evaluate the program for its spiritual development and a ministry of the Baptist Student Ministry.
