Abstract
  • Vietnamese Catholic refugees/immigrants build their ethnic community church to retrieve their ethnicity and faith tradition. This is not a retreat but a strategy to establish themselves in the host country and church. Becoming Vietnamese Americans, they can integrate successfully into and contribute greatly to American society and the church. To re-inculturate their faith within the American church then are the twofold task that challenges them to live out their faith in accordance with the principle of unity in diversity to achieve the Catholic vision of a universal communion of humanity.
