Abstracto

The author theorized that establishing a parish model for seminary formation would give the seminarians a better idea of what a parish does and thus give them a better atmosphere in which to discern their vocation. Theological research was conducted on the parish and seminary formation. The author conducted focus groups with parishioners and sent surveys out to college seminarians to help in the development of the parish model. Parish-like councils and commissions were established. After implementing the model at a college seminary, the seminarians showed greater collaborative skills and more ownership of their formation.
