Abstract

This project is the record of a workshop offered at Church of the Open Door in Minneapolis, MN, for its paid and volunteer leaders in order to acquaint them with the spiritual discipline tool of spiritual direction relationships. The workshop helped these leaders investigate this tool to determine if they would like to pursue its use and offered assistance in how to find a spiritual direction relationship. A handbook entitled the Beginner's guide to spiritual direction relationships (SDR) is included which workshop participants read along with attending eight sessions to discuss the handbook and other topics related to SDR. It is our conviction that those whose ministry it is to make disciples of Jesus Christ need to be helped in making sure they are attending to becoming disciples themselves. The SDR Workshop is a tool offered for that process.
