Abstract
  • The specific question raised in this study was: Can a pastor train individuals to give more effective speeches in a local church setting? in an effort to answer this question, ten people were trained for four months using a persuasive manual prepared for this project. The speaking abilities of these individuals were tested by means of the Bryan-Wilke Scale for Rating Public Speeches before and after their exposure to the weekly training sessions. The test results indicate that a pastor using the methodology of this study can train individuals to give more effective speeches.
