- Abstract
- A field of expanding interest is the management of differences in the church. One reason for this interest is that conflict can cause dysfunctional and functional effects in any congregation. The theological, social, andragogical, and methodological approaches to the study of conflict management and reconciliation undergird the development of a six-module seminar. This seminar exposes ministers to skills which aid interpersonal relationships: listening, assertiveness, conflict resolution, collaborative problem-solving, and skill selection. The findings suggest that the successful church administrator also will demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal relationships and creative conflict management.
