Charles V. Gerkin, in The Living Human Document, laments the absorption of pastoral couseling ministry into psychotherapy to the point of loss of the pastor's roots in the Christian tradition and language. This project proposes that a dialogue between narrative therapy and narrative theology paves the way for the reappropriation by pastoral counseling of the Christian tradition and language; indeed, it demands it!
