Abstract
  • This project documents and investigates the profession and growth of Christian Reformed Church missions to Chinese in North America from 1954 to 1994. The project in particular examines the CRC's need to fulfill the 'Great Commission'--a study that can be applied to other denominations. The project describes in detail the theological conflict between recent traditional Reformed missiology and evangelistic necessity. This conflict provides a breeding ground for complacency and inwardness, and it further retards the mission that the church intends to promote. A new approach (a mission-shaped church) is needed to turn this tide within the CRC.
