  • This project sought to answer the question: Could the principles of Christ Renews His Parish help create a simple and self-generative process for the ongoing formation of preachers? The pilot demonstrated that a format of a preaching retreat day, formation period, and preaching retreat day was able to perpetuate participation but not facilitation. Although the pilot was not definitive, team member behavior and interview responses suggest that the pilot built community, developed some elements of conversion among the pilot team members, and helped their understanding of preaching as biblical, liturgical, kerygmatic, conversational, and prophetic.
