- Abstract
- This project develops a new program to coach novice Christian in their faith, and to incorporate them into the life of a Lutheran congregation. A group of coaches is trained, each coach is paired with a new Christian, and the pairs of covenant to meet together monthly for a year. Coaches also meet separately, monthly, for support. Research for the project focuses on three key questions: (1) What makes an effective coach? (2) What should a Christian know? and (3) What is a Lutheran Christian lifestyle? The coaching program is evaluated after six months.
