Abstract
  • Small faith sharing groups are a growing phenomenon. Adults gather to reflect and share with one another spiritual topics affecting their lives. In the perspective of the American experience, the elements, benefits, and challenges of small faith groups are described. Research indicates that small faith groups have an impact on the faith life of adults. The spirituality in small faith groups is explored in connection with Franciscan values. Six sessions, integrating the Franciscan values of humility, poverty, care for the poor, care for creation, peacemaking, and contemplation, are presented, along with evaluation of the sessions by three pilot groups.
