- Abstract
- This project was designed to provide a peer support community for ordained ministers working toward member or fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and preparing to become certified pastoral counselors in the state of New Hampshire. The intent of the community was twofold: to alleviate the stress inherent in the training process; and to offer a non-hierarchical, community-based model for ministry. The project explored several avenues for providing support including education, emotional support, and advocacy efforts. Among the measures chosen by participants were newsletters, networking, gatherings for discussion, and affiliation with certified pastoral counselors in a formal professional organization.
