Abstract
  • The author's thesis is that a small group who studies private prayer in depth will grow significantly in knowledge and usage of prayer. First Baptist Church (Henderson, Kentucky) heard a series of sermons on prayer and attended a prayer seminar. In addition to these, a selected small group studied various aspects of private prayer during seven weekly meetings. Increases in knowledge and usage of prayer, measured by several instruments, were dramatically higher in the group than in the rest of the congregation.
