Abstract
  • This project introduces a simplified Southern Baptist orientation manual into the life of Korean-speaking Southern Baptist churches in the United States. Because Baptist missionary work started in Korea much later than other denominations, many of the Korean Southern Baptist church leaders come from non-Baptist evangelical backgrounds. As a result, many of them are continuing practices of their old denomination under the name of Baptists. These leaders need orientation and training to the Southern Baptist denomination. The pastors and the church leaders who engaged in the project were trained and motivated to use the manual to increase their understanding of Southern Baptist distinctives, its programs in a local church, the denominational agencies and their missions. They will become examples and orient their new and current church members about the Southern Baptists and their works.
