Abstract

The Bible emphasizes a sense of the holiness of God in the worship experience. Four major components of the worship service were identified and described. The fourth component, a sense of the holiness of God, was developed by a review of various authors and Bible passages dealing with the concept. The development of a proposed model worship service resulted from a questionnaire, sermons, and congregational consultations. The strong relationship between a sense of the holiness of God and worship apparent in the Bible needs to be given due emphasis in Christian worship services.
