Abstract

This paper begins with the theological basis for evangelization. Doctrines are discussed as they relate to evangelism. The pastor's personal spiritual development is considered. Change, an issue which is peculiar in the rural areas, is set in its own context. Current evangelism concepts are explored. The Church Growth Movement and how its insights are put into practice are summarized. A program for evangelism of the Nebraska Synod is described. The setting is analyzed including population figures and trends. The community and the congregation are described. The details of an evangelism process are described and the results examined.
