Abstract
  • This thesis-project addresses the way in which the third typical edition of the third typical edition of the Institutio Generalis Missalis Romani (GIRM2003) has been received and implemented within the U.S. Catholic Church. This exercise in practical theology reflects upon specific pastoral examples within the Archdiocese of Chicago where the GIRM2003 has been introduced. Much can be learned from the ministerial praxis of a particular diocese that has introduced liturgical changes and has a long history with liturgical reform and renewal. This thesis-project outlines effective pastoral strategies for the reception and introduction of liturgical change and updating.
