- Abstract
- Fewer priests available to minister to a growing number of faithful has strained the Catholic Church in America. Increasingly, bishops have assigned priest as pastors to multiple parishes. This project studied the current shift in pastoral care given and pastoral care received that affects the ministers and their faith communities. The project engaged these pastors from the Diocese of Madison in a reflective consultation process on the phenomenon of pastoring multiple parishes using theological reflection. The wisdom gleaned provides insights for maintaining and enhancing the existing faith communities as well as the quality of the priests' ministry and self care.
