Abstract
  • In this project, an educational program was created to raise cultural awareness about the need for organ donation among African Americans. Effectiveness of the program was evaluated by African American male and female pastors. Ratings were grouped and analyzed by gender; differences were not statistically different. Both groups affirmed value in the program's capacity to facilitate family discussions about organ donation and to underscore the need for donation in African American communities. To a lesser extent, evaluators responded favorably to the program's capacity to correct informational barriers. Overall, the format of the program received high marks from each group.
