- Abstract
- Does a universal form of drama exist and can it be used for Christian communication? Through field research and literature review, the author demonstrates that drama form is not universal, but is culturally based. True communication can only take place when the indigenous forms of drama are understood and practiced. A model is developed for ethnodramatology -- how to discover and understand a culture's drama forms -- and applied in Kenya, India and the U.S. to show how and why drama style differs. Recommendations are made for Christians to utilize drama in their cultures of ministry. Particularly appropriate forms are suggested.
