Abstract
  • This project presents a call for Southern Baptist congregations to return to an effective, biblical discipline. Such a discipline includes the essential and inseparable elements of formation, reformation or correction, and restoration. Based on the biblical foundations for discipline, the historical contexts of Baptist discipline, and comparisons of discipline in other Protestant denominations, the project proposes five acts of ministry dealing with Scripture, church covenant, church bylaws, denominational training opportunities, and case studies with role playing.
