Abstract

The purpose of this project is to encourage the members of Grace congregation to define the mission of the congregation and to confront the special needs and conditions of the residents of Arlington, Texas. One specific way of congregational response is then selected. In a previous analysis of the congregation, we learned that our congregation was located in the area of Arlington which has the highest number of social problems. We also learned that responding to human problems came out last on the scale of importance in our church life as it was perceived by our members. The project, therefore, is designed to focus the attention of the members on the biblical witness or the mission of the church to the whole person and specifically on circumstances of human need in our church neighborhood.
